To Burn or Not to Burn!

Well – which is it. Are you going to burn your license or not? Why. Explain how you came to your decision.

Gold – We Found Gold!

Not only did we find gold – we saw how just a few people put it all on the line to change a nation.

Hmmm, here is my top 5 highs.

1.    The Eureka Centre and BOB the education officer. I’ve been there heaps of times and each time I learn something new. Can you imagine your own great great grandparents being there? Someone in your family was alive in 1854. Who was it? Where were they? Make up a name and a bit of a life story for your relative and tell me about it. Click here to see what others have done in the past. The thought that one of your own family members might have been here in Ballarat is pretty amazing. Most of all about the Eureka Centre is the fact that this is where it actually really happened. This is where those people were shot dead – and those who survived went on to become heroes of democracy in our country.

2.     Drop Bears in the Red Hill Mine. William Tragenza was a bit of legend in his time. I particularly love this mine tour because it gives you just a tiny bit of a taste of what it must have been like. We were in there for 7 minutes. Imagine spending 10 hours a day in there every day but Sunday. How many words can you come up with to describe the sights, smells and sensations of being underground?

3.   Mrs. Rowes American Circus Gala Performance Night. Wow – how good was that. Heaps of great acts and performances. Perhaps the best thing for me was seeing the other school come in and join us. This is exactly what used to happen around the camp fires in the gold fields of 1854. If you could invite someone around your camp fire who would it be and why?

4.    Chinese Education Session. Well, you know that I love Chinese stuff (especially the food). What was stunning was having the two Chinese people there to teach us how to speak. Which words do you remember how to say?

5.    Number 5 is so hard, there are heaps of things I love about camp that could make this list a whole lot longer. I think I’ll pick the Red Coats firing off their guns. Even though I new exactly what to expect – I still jumped with fright. What are 8 of the things that did not make it into your top 5 list?

You guys were the best – stunning, awesome, beyond awesome – beawesome in fact! I loved the way you were mature out in public, still had fun, took risks and shared your stuff. I wish I could take you all on camp again.I’m really, really proud of you.

Now you have read my letter to you, write back to me and answering the questions that are in the post.
